Could the smart grid everyone is talking about lead to more than just a high-tech energy infrastructure, including much more of society and our economy than we currently imagine? Like a merging of the smart meters, Facebook, smartphones, and just about everything else in our lives?Will the smart grid likely involve more than just clean energy?The smart grid refers to a specific meta-structural analysis of electric energy production. It really isn't a grid any more than cloud computing is a cloud. it's a way to look at electricity. The grid refers to old electric plants that used this giant chart on a board with flashing lights to tell them that electricity was flowing properly. the smart grid is just a way of saying that electricity is flowing more efficiently From a computer perspective it's the hardware. The reason it's smart is because your home will constantly update itself on power usage, and this will allow the grid to shunt energy into better channels. this will also allow the home plant to reduce energy output during low demand periods. Really you'll have very little personal interface with this grid because it will be handled on the micro scale and at a speed much faster than you can manually input information. From a computer perspective, it's like when you upload a program and the computer reads all the information on a disk. While you technically put the disk in the tray you are not really impacting the program because the disk and the computer are communicating with each other. The smart grid the plant is the computer and the home is the data disk, your input is turning on a light

Really that has already happened in more advanced plants where you can check all the information on current entering and leaving the house by checking your laptop. For some reason I have these XP Smart Security adware pop ups which is assuming the computer has an incredible amount of viruses which is untrue.

If you can not open the file , rename the Malwarebytes download file into any other name. Once downloaded, just install and let it perform a scan. If you are still having problems then go into safe mode and run Malwarebytes

I would go to a health food store and buy one that is for babies/ children specifically. Also, make sure that the brand you choose is purified and certified to be free from any contaminants. Most of the European brands (i.e. Nordic Naturals) are somewhat "cleaner" as the standards in the EU are more strict. I actually give my kids Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil. It is molecularly distilled and you can get it in several fruit flavors. The adult dose is 1 teaspoon so I give them only a 1/4 of a teaspoon at that age. I think UDOs brand oil makes a variety for children as well. You can check with the staff at a reputable health food store for other product suggestion or even e-mail some of the companies themselves to find out which of their products are right for a baby. DHA and EPA (found in fish oil) are critical for brain development. It is great that you will be getting this to your baby from the start! I think most North American's children's diets are lacking in these key nutrients as you can only get these nutrients from fish and also from flax. The problem with flax is that it's not as bioavailable as the fish oil as your body has to convert it before it can use the nutrients....with fish oil, your body can absorb it right away. You can add it to yogourt or apple sauce if it makes it easier for your baby to take it.
In fact, studies have shown there are measurable IQ differences between infants whose mothers have taken fish oil during pregnancy/nursing and those who have not. The DHA levels in North American women's breastmilk is among the lowest in the world. Some researchers also believe that certain behavioural/concentration difficulties among children could stem from their lack of these critical brain nutrients. Just search for DHA/EPA and children/infant in your search engine and you will see plenty of studies. You can write, draw, or anything on them. They are amazing in a classroom (makes a BIG difference in math classes especially) because they can be used to demonstrate things much better. For example, 3-D concepts would be hard to show on a blackboard, but there are programs that can be used on the smartboard where you can drag stuff around to see all sides of something.
They also make note-taking MUCH more efficient. I go to a school that has smartboards and it does have an impact in the classroom.

I have a front wheel drive vehicle and it is now winter time. I have been told for years that it is smart to put some weight (salt bags, cinder blocks etc.) in my trunk to put weight on my back wheels for traction. Besides finding other routes, it takes just as long sometimes where I live. Is keeping the automatic shifter in 1st or 2nd a smart idea? I've just spent an hour properly sorting though my utility statments to find I've been charged ￡404 for electricity for January to March 2007.
It was around ￡350 for the quarter before and around ￡280 for Autumn quarter. Checking my bills ￡404 is like more than double what I was paying four years ago.
We live in a normalish semi-detatched in an area of the UK which is generally mild weather.
My estimated gas bill for the next 12 months is ￡710, and council tax ￡1800-ish pa. Don't have water bills to hand but its all getting painfully expensive.
Please don't tell me to use candles or something. I need one of those Government type checklists for getting smart with energy useage / lower consumption if possible. A lot of it is common sense really; only buy energy efficient appliances (expensive to replace if there's nothing physically wrong with your current ones though!) I always try and look for at least A- rated appliances, if not AAA if available.
Choose lower temperatures when running your dishwasher and washing machine and use dryer balls in your tumble dryer as they cut down the drying time. Energy saving light bulbs are an absolute must have, they are generally a lot smaller and less ugly these days and pay for themselves over time.
And, if it's not in use SWITCH IT OFF! My children seem to be labouring under the misapprehension that our house is a homage to the Blackpool illuminations and are terrible for leaving lights on during the day, it's a pain but I go round the house switching things off in their wake. Get the most out of the natural light sources available, choose window dressings that allow the most light into the house and perhaps people won't be so inclined to reach for the light switch! I'd also look to your garden, are there any plants/trees that are blocking your natural light? If so, give them a haircut!

I think you need to get the 20 watt ones, which have the same amount of light as the 100 watt ones. I'm getting to know this guy that is working on his graduate degree at Tufts, and I wonder if I'll be able to keep this guy. Don't be intimidated by people pursuing higher levels of formal education. I don't know about your friend specifically of course, but there are all sorts of highly educated yet socially inept or emotionally immature people running around all over the place. Of those who are part of this group, they can often hide behind their intellect and conceal their problem.
"Average intelligence" in, what, academics? Math? Emotion? Ability to communicate? Ability to comprehend politics? Don't think just because you might be "average" in one area that you're average in all areas. It's a fallacy to think that someone with a PhD in astrophysics is necessarily more intelligent than some semi successful music producers who barely made it out of high school.
I am reminded of Bernard Kerik. Although Kerik has recently found himself in legal trouble for corruption issues, Kerik was the commissioner of NYPD during Sept. 11th under Mayor Giuliani. Under Kerik, the decrease in crime continued to lower. But perhaps Kerik's larger claim to fame is how he managed to get Riker's Island under control.
New York CIty's Department of Corrections is larger than most state prison systems. Back in the 80s and 90s, Riker's Island was out of control. By all accounts, the conditions were horrible, staff morale was probably as low as that of the inmates, finances weren't working out too well, etc. The City hired a number of highly qualified and educated people to run the massive operation. Many of them resigned after failing to do well. These people had graduate level degrees.
Commissioner Kerik came in after serving on NYPD as a narcotics detective. He had prior practical experience at a smaller jail system in New Jersey where he performed rather well. With this experience and general knowledge gained in law enforcement, Kerik was appointed commissioner of corrections, a job that destroyed several others before him.
Kerik turned Riker's Island around. Kerik got the system working when others could not.
Kerik dropped out of high school.
It's anecdotal evidence, and I realize that, but the point is you cannot allow the intelligence of another, real or perceived, to intimdate you because everyone has limitations and everyone has something to offer. I'm sure you have something to offer. He can take that or leave it. But even if he leaves it, that may not be a function of his intelligence. People leave others for all sorts of reasons, and the intelligence of either person usually isn't a factor.
The only negative comment I could make is to mention statistics that exist somewhere out there which say the chances of a relationship/marriage staying together increases when the level of education of the two people involved are more similar.
However I suggest that the problems causing separation in cases where education is not similar is not because one person went to Harvard and the other barely got through community college. The problem may be a matter of culture. A person who went to Harvard is more likely to have come from a certain type of family or neighborhood environment, not to mention perhaps raised to think he or she is exceptionally smart. The person who went to a community college may have come from a far different background, or even somewhat different. This difference may attribute for marital problems, however the level of education is what's cited. After all, it's far easier to track and makes for less expensive studies.Would a smart guy at the top of his college graduating class ever go for an average intelligence girl?Probably the majority of guys would even prefer to be with girls who are not-quite-so-smart as they are!! Sluts attract attention, but the wrong type and guys don't stay with them - not the sort of guys you like anyway!
So I think you have a very good chance of keeping your college boy. You don't have to be super-smart to land a gorgeous guy. Most guys find super-smart girls a bit scary. If he is letting you get to know him, he already finds you attractive :o) He will love the fact that you think he is so smart.

I have a friend that is incredibly intelligent that is is a really bad place. He is way too smart to be a customer service rep, but that's all he's done. For example, a single read may encompass reading data from several distinct areas from the disk and placing the data read into several distinct areas of memory - because of virtual memory even if an application requests a single buffer is filled that may not translate into a single region of physical memory. For an unintelligent controller the computer must work out where the first block must go and then request the disk drive transfer than data. Traditionally with ATA it can't then do anything else with the disk until that request has been completed although that is beginning to diminish with NCQ equipped drives.
It carries on running your applications until it is told the transfer is complete. It then breaks off from what it was doing, works out what the next block to be transferred is, and requests that operation is performed, and so on until the entire transfer has been done. Constantly switching between running your applications and managing the disk like this (it is called a context switch) takes an awful lot of time and limits the benefits you get from your cache and branch predictor. That harms the performance of your computer and also slows down the effective performance of the disk, since it does not respond right away when the previous disk command is completed.
A smart disk controller can simple be told "transfer the data from here, here and here on the disk to here, here and here in memory" It then goes off and does the whole lot before reporting back to the computer that it is done. This means that the computer does not have to spend as long dealing with the hard disk and also that the transfer is performed much more quickly anyway, since the controller can respond to the hard drive much more quickly than the computer could.
This adds up to a good performance boost even for a single hard drive. For RAID configurations the improvement is even more dramatic. Instead of the computer having to figure out where the data should be stored on each individual drive and talking to each of them, it sends the request to the controller as a single block. The controller then sorts out all the low level details for itself allowing the computer to get on with running your applications.

For example, if the Chinese goverment think Chinese market is arising too fast, they may directly increase its interest rate which will automatically hurt its stock market. You must cut your spending and live on less than you make.
2.First get current on all of you debts and make no more late payments. Stop using your credit cards immediately. Do not take on any more debt. Credit cards are like quicksand only the death is much slower. Make a list of all of your debts in order of highest interest rate to lowest interest. Use cash only for your spending from now on.
3.Pay the minimum due on all of your debts and then put your extra money towards paying off the highest interest one first. After you get that one paid off, you put the money you were paying on debt #1 (the minimum payment and the extra payment) towards debt #2. That will pay debt #2 off faster. When that is paid off, you put all three payments towards card #3 and that one will be paid off pretty quickly. As an example:

Debt #2 (middle interest): minimum payment

That way, you will get them all paid off, on time, and pay the least interest. It will also help towards rebuilding your credit since you will no longer have any late payments. This works no matter how many different debts you may have.
4. After you get all of your debts paid off, add to your emergency fund until you have 6-12 months of income saved up. Put that emergency fund money into a liquid money market fund or into a Bank of America no-risk CD so that if you need the money you can take it out without penalty.
5a. When you have your emergency fund in place, add a category for "fun" to your budget. Save for a holiday, a vacation, a big screen, or dinners out, whatever goal you want. Remember to enjoy your life.
5b. When you have your emergency fund in place, start saving for your retirement. Join the 401(k) plan at work and contribute the maximum. Your employer probably matches at least part of your contribution so why give up free money? Open a Roth IRA and contribute the maximum on a monthly basis. If you start saving for your retirement now, you will probably retire a millionaire.
5c. When you have your emergency fund in place, start saving for your next car. Only buy cars, or other things that depreciate, with cash. Save up for a nicer car. That way you get the interest instead of paying the interest.
You can do it and it isn't as hard as you think. Just follow the plan.

If no, I say transfer as much as you can pay off in a year to the 0% card and leave the rest on the 11.22 card. Pay off as much as you can of the 0%. If you can afford to pay off the 11.22 some while you're doing it, that's even better. That way you're saving as much as possible while still working down your debt.
This is all assuming that you're trying to use these 2 cards to ONLY work off your debt, without actually using them as charge cards. If you plan on regularly using this new card, then the fact that it has a 0% interest rate will be to their advantage and not yours.

The good part about a yorkie for a 5 yr old is, the 5 yr old can't walk a dog anyway and yorkies dont need to be walked daily..you just need to let them out in the yard.

How do I motivate myself to become smart?If you want to learn something, then research it. Intelligence isn't really something you can get, or lose... it's just there. But, knowledge can be learned, and is everywhere for those who want to find it. Read, read and read some more. And listen to people. They may often be wrong, but they have experiences differing from your own, and you should consider their opinions as something from which you can learn.
Homework won't make you smart. You can write and work on math problems if it helps you learn things that you want to know, or strengthen your skills. When you realize that it is up to you to decide what you want to do, then maybe it won't be a bore.

I am a college student and there are a lot of Atheist people at my school, just about all of the ones I know do drugs. At lest, people who have been drug addicts and managed to quit are on average more intelligent than the general population. That has been demonstrated and so are atheist.
Intelligent people are also more likely to be depressed. I think it has to do with people not being able to ignore or have blind faith in things, so they notice how much bullshit is in the world. I make great money, my credit is very shacky with a small FICA Score of 590, Now that I am making good money I am paying off my debts and should be debt free in a yr. Also in 1 yr my contracted job ends. I am in the middle of making a transition, of opening a buisness, and realisticly looking at making between 6,000 on shaky months and atleast 9,000+ on normal to good months. #1 priority for you is to get your financial house in order. Here are my reccomendations before owning (I know, trust me).
a) You should have 3 - 6 months living expenses in a savings account.
b) You should have secure, stable employement.
c) Increase your credit score! The better it is the lower the interest payment.
d) For the next six-months, pretend you are living in that condo. Pretend like you are paying the bills you would have if you lived there....for example, mortgage payment. If your rent is less than the mortgage would be, put the excess in an account. Put the cost of utilities, upkeep, insurance, etc. in an account. If you can manage to do this, then you are ready. Owning comes with a lot of extra bills. Allow 20 - 30% of your mortgage amount as extra expenses.
e) Retirement??? If you have no money in a retirement fund, then now is not the time to own.For my particular situation, Would it be smart for me to rent to own a home?Given your situation, i would sugggest saving up some money and improving your credit. Real estate prices are falling and you might get a better price in the future. However, if you need increased torque, not increased speed, you need to pass more current through the motor. since torque is roughly proportional to motor current. This also requires more voltage, but the additional current will produce more heat in the motor and possibly burn the insulation off the windings, so be sniffing for burnt smell.
So the answer is supply it with more voltage (more batteries in series).

I recently get a one year old mini pin. He's adorable in every way but his breeder didn't bother to crop his ears and tail. Is it too late for this procedure now? I'm afraid that it would hurt him more now that he's older.Is it too late to crop my mini pin ears and tail?First of all, where do people come up with these comments i.e. "bleeding out". That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. It just doesn't happen and if it does, it's far and few between and generally the fault of the owner for not taking proper care of the ears afterward. Vets require that you return with the dog every week to check ears.
Next, tail docking is done by the breeder between 3-5 days of age. Anything AFTER that age must be done by a vet since it is then considered an amputation and is much more costly. There is minimal pain since the vet provides pain meds and if the vet doesn't then shame on him/her.
Older dogs should be cropped using laser as it closes the wound as it cuts. It, too, is more expensive but well worth the money especially if you have a good vet that knows what he/she is doing as far as the cut conforming to the head.
I'd suggest contacting a breeder and talking to them. It should be your decision and your choice but only after you have gotten facts surrounding the procedures. Although many people dislike cropping and docking and insist that it is such a painful procedure, I wonder how many men remember the pain they suffered when they were circumsized without their permission. And btw, it is a scientific fact that circumcision provides no health benefits.
I've seen many questions such as this one and immediately people jump on the "don't do it wagon", "it's painful", "it's too late" and numerous other arguements. It's not your decision to make, people, and you should be|||Yup way too late.
Tail are DOCKED at 2 or 3 days of age.
Ears are preferred to be cropped under 4 months because the older the dog gets the more mature the blood vessels in the ears become and then you increase the risk of a complication during the surgery such as the dog bleeding out - dogs have a lot of blood pressure in their ears.
ADD: And for the record, I don't find cropping or docking cruel. My Doberman's tail is docked and I happen to like it that way - otherwise he would have a hound-like tail which would probably have damaged a lot of things in my house or I run the risk of him breaking his own tail. What do you think is more painful? Docking at 2 days of age with the dog SLEEPING through the procedure in some cases, or having the tail amputated when they are older because of a bad break?
My dog's ears are natural. I just personally did not want to crop his ears - if he had come that way, I wouldn't have cared.
It's also not just done for "cosmetic reasons" - in some dogs it is actually their breed standard, especially for some working dogs like the Doberman.

The procedure cost alot more than docking. and your dog could end up with a infection or something. I have schnauzer so my dogs are docked and cropped but If i got them at year old they would have stayed the way they came. I wouldn't have subjected them to that at one year old. Hi! I need a new set of tyres for my mini and I wondered if anyone could give me some recommendations. Don't be surprised if your dogs don't eat *quite* as much as the bag says if they are all spayed or neutered - fixed dogs consume less calories and most bags list the calorie requirements for intact dogs.

Here is how to feed them:
Feed them at separate ends of the room.
Put the bowls down and give them 10 minutes to eat all the food (if you are feeding 2 times a day - which is usually advised) then next meal time, start with the same amount of food as the first meal. Missing one meal doesn't exactly matter. I want to make som delicious brownies! I planned to use dark chocolate for the base, then add white chocolate and milk chocolate chunks but i have A LOT of mini daim bars (IKEA) haha - which i wuld like to use up, they are like very hard crunchy caraels, would it work well if i put some crushed ones in my brownie mix then bake?Would mini daim chocolate's work well when making brownies?I'd stick to baking chocolate. Just always turns out better
