smart: Lately my sony ericsson has been saying i need to insert a smart chip. It completely locks up the screen and i cant get to the menu. The only thing i can do is call 911. Also if you don't have an account, or you do but it has been suspended- you will get that error. That means the SIM isn't active, then you need to sign up.or pay the bill to reinstae service Also- if you have active service you can get that error if there is an issue with the device/or SIM. Again call customer care
