i have at&t and i want a smart phone but cant afford the unlimited data plan. can i buy a used smart phone and not use the data and not have to upgrade?Can i buy a used smart phone without having to upgrade to a data plan?First off, there is no more unlimited data plan. You get to choose between the $15 & $25 plans.
Sorry, but the data plan is required regardless of where the phone is bought, unlocked or not...Can i buy a used smart phone without having to upgrade to a data plan?Call or go into At&t, and they can help, it all depends on your specific plan, the model of phone you are buying, the phone you already have, etc.
