I might be going to a brand new high school. And while I was taking the tour I noticed they had smart boards ( well at least that's what they called them) and that they were using them instead of chalk boards. What are they? What do they do, ad how do they work?
Thank you very much! What is a smart board, and what exactly can it do?They are basically giant, interactive computer screens.
You can write, draw, or anything on them. They are amazing in a classroom (makes a BIG difference in math classes especially) because they can be used to demonstrate things much better. For example, 3-D concepts would be hard to show on a blackboard, but there are programs that can be used on the smartboard where you can drag stuff around to see all sides of something.
They also make note-taking MUCH more efficient. I go to a school that has smartboards and it does have an impact in the classroom.
