I've read somewhere that mini lop bucks slow down their growth at 6 months old, is that true?
My mini lop buck is currently 4 1/2 months old, i really like the size that he is.
Does he still have allot of growing to do?
Or only a bit left?
Thank you
Best answer 10 points so make it goodWhat age does a mini lop buck stop growing? It really depends on his genetics. Some genetic lines have fast early growth and reach mature weight/size at 6-8 mths. Other genetic lines don't reach mature weight/size until as late as 18 mths. Either way he shouldn't get any bigger than 6 lbs. What age does a mini lop buck stop growing?A pure breed rabbit is considered a "senior" at the age of 6 months. That is when they are able to be registered (by ARBA) and their weight at this age is recorded. Rabbits do continue to grow until they are a year old.
Also if you overfeed your rabbit it will end up weighing much more than it should.
How big your rabbit will be has much to do with his genetic background (his ancestors). Whatever his dam and sire's size is he will be close to that.
A Mini Lop should weigh 4 1/2- 6 1/2 pounds with 6 pounds the ideal weight. This information is from the ARBA SOP page 155
