I am travelling out of state, and there are no MINI dealers for several hundred miles. I need to change the battery in the remote unlock key or the car won't start. What battery does it take (so I can have the battery ready BEFORE I take the key apart.)How can I change the battery in my '02 Mini Cooper master key?It's a rechargeable battery that recharges when the key is in the ignition.
The battery isn't replaceable as far as I know.
Call a dealer and find out for sure.
