So, (if you don't have a 1394 i/f on your PC) you can get a 1394 capture card/dongle for your PC and do a digital transfer. Or if your camcorder has analog out (say, s-video) you can get an analog capture card for your PC. Most DVD recorders have a 1394 i/f. You can use it to make DVDs out of your tapes. If your camera has a USB interface, that may be another option.
